The N and 6 started out as a kind of gold or honey-color (sorry, I don't know Pantone numbers), with the letter or number on them being white like all the others. I think that continued onto the Vignelli map. When the switch was made to trunk-line colors, is that when the Broadway line became a brighter yellow than the N had been? Did they go to black letters on the yellow bullets then, or did that come later? Likewise, is that when the L or LL (the only service on its trunk) changed from black to gray? |
