Would it be correct to assume that the initial Lo-V's must have been transferred to the Jerome, by running them from 148th shops south, to a point on the Lenox Ave. section, then reversing operating northbound to the Bronx; at 149th St. station, reversing again to wrong rail south on the connecting track from 7th Ave. route to completed East Side tracks (north of 135th St.); then north on the East Side track into 149th St. continuing north onto the Jerome Line.

When I first thought about the Lo-V transfer, I wondered if a provision for the East Side 149th Station, had originally been built as a shell or just an open space below the West Side 149th St. station when it was being built prior to the 1905 opening.

Looking at the Jerome Woodlawn page in nycsubway.org I read the following:

"The contract for the subway portion from 135th to 157th Streets was executed on November 17, 1911..."

Reading the quote from the Woodlawn page, which cites the Nov. 1911 date for the contract, it looks as though the Woodlawn line, including the East side 149th st. station was new construction between 1911-1917. That would have meant the original 149th St. Grand Concourse station, would have had to have been underpinned at some point, when the East side 149th st. station was being constructed
