I-78 was supposed to run from the WillyB down between Broadway and Bushwick Av. and then along either Fulton or Atlantic and then down the Conduit median to connect to the current Nassau Expwy, which later became NYS-878. As it was built, the Queens portion is wide enough but the Brooklyn portion is much narrower, as if the plans had been abandoned by the time it was built.Bob |
