This particular branch (the Port Washington branch) has but four of its eleven stations wholly within the city limits. That particular theory may work for the folks from Babylon, Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson, whose long slogs could easily be exacerbated by additional local stops, but for PW (and quite a few of their trains originate from and terminate at Great Neck) it's not particularly applicable. Especially with one additional stop at Elmhurst. That neighborhood, especially around the Broadway corridor is absolutely teeming with people.
