LIRR is not intended to serve passengers in the city, it is intended to serve passengers on Long Island. Such pax do not want to be annoyed by local stops and heavier crowds. Such pax can afford higher fares and are willing to pay them so that they may have these faster trains with adequate seating and stuff.

Or maybe we should bring back first, second and third class cars.
