MBTA tried this stupidity and had the good sense to bring it to a merciful end after mere months thanks to the widespread fare evasion. Come on, do you not see the MASSIVE opportunity for widespread fare evasion as people carpool, take the subway, or use any other means to get *to* work, and then take advantage of the GAPING hole in your fare collection system to return for free? At least outbound payment makes the carpool fare evasion method a bit more inconvenient, but it's still mindblowingly moronic. |
