You can't just arbitrarily raise the minimum wage and not expect some will have to pay for it

I wonder if they have dollar menu's there.

At least there's no poor people or homeless that need cheap food there.

I can get my $5 footlong here in New York.

The high cost of doing business there is artificial, not a product of market forces.

LOL. Actually San Francisco has one of the WORST homeless problems, I have EVER seen, way worse than NY was even in the 80's. Homeless people everythere in San Fran. Such a beautiful city, and homeless lying in doorways everywhere. THat's what happens when liberals and the left is in control of a city for so long....

I think we all know by now my controversial opinion regarding minimum wage.

Admittedly, having no minimum wages makes sense, but somehow one feels for the workers who are incapable of actually earning more. OTOH, one could argue that given the shift in our society toward the need for more education, that bar for what constitutes mental retardation may need to be bumped up, and that those who qualified under the new standards should simply get disability benefits...

False. San Diego for example has a much better climate than SF and doesn't have that same problem. The whole southwest has a good climate with little freezing, yet not the same homeless problem. Same with Florida. San Fran has a severe homeless problem, and it's not based on just it's climate.

"More" is a subjective idea. Most people also won't want to be spending another $$ for our "cheeseburgers" either and thats what WILL happen. And as that happens all service and merchandise goes up..lessening everyone's spending power.

Also sales will go down as it reaches the price point that more people might decide to make their own food as opposed to go out and eat fast food. This could theoretically result in the loss of some fast food workers' jobs.

No. No one is advocating for such a thing. You can get the normal price items everywhere else, except in places like San Fran where leftist policy makes it difficult to conduct business. That hurts the consumer, and in turn the worker too.
But of course, you have to bring up the absurd (the usual leftist argument tactic) to try and prove a point.

It's not absurd, but just following your logic. If the worker were paid less the reality would be the owner would pocket the difference as profit.

San Francisco is a high rental market so it makes sense to kick people's pay up.

It doesn't make sense to "kick it up". Don't live in the city if you can't afford it.
And no, the owner would not pocket the money, as if it were possible to do business at a lower price, prices paid can be lower too, and would be, as competition wouldn't allow his prices to be higher, as another business would come in and undercut.

Yes. IF it were possible to provide the service at a lower cost to the consumer, the LESSER prices would appear because of competition. So you are incorrect that the owner would pocket the extra money if costs of doing business were lower, as competition wouldn't allow it. However, bad municipal business policy making business have to charge more, hurts consumers as that cost is passed onto the consumers, many of which are also workers. So that "extra" money the worker would make would in turn be paid out in the higher costs of goods.
