That doesn't mean it's wrong, institutions can evolve. Until recently, there were no laws anywhere against same sex marriage. Marriage was so understood to be between a man and woman that two men or two women being married just seemed like a joke. Now that same sex marriage is established, there is no point in banning it, just as there is no point in stopping incestuous or polygamous marriage. |
