I agree completely...with both the McDonald's average at best breakfast comment, as well as many people would buy burgers before 11:00 if they were offered. There are many times that I forgoed going to Burger King or McDonalds in the 10-11 hour because I didnt' feel like breakfast food, but was hungry for lunch. I usually wind up stopping at the 7-11 instead.....

IHOP does. Diners do too. But McDonald's is losing out

McDondalds is not IHOP or a Diner.

Dunkin Donuts sells egg sandwiches all day long. No reason McDonalds' can't do the same.

DD doesn't serve a full "non breakfast" menu the rest of the day.

I didn't realize that...that's good to know. I had thought it was 11:00, or at least it used to be.
There are MANY times, where I am in Brooklyn after being there for something, at let's say 10:15, and am hungry, and would stop for something quick at McDonalds before heading onto the parkway, but don't because I am not waiting around until 11:00. But I would wait around 10-15 minutes if I wanted lunch food.

Most Florida locations start serving lunch at 10:30.

In NY, there was a McDonald's on 108 in Forest Hills that was supposed to serve breakfast until 11am. But the manager got it changed to 10:30, and even had some lunch/dinner items ready by 10. I remember being in there at 10:45 and being turned away for breakfast, and he was right, as the line was 10 deep with school kids and construction workers wanting lunch.

I know. My point is, there are people who like breakfast items throughout the day, and McDonald's can get some of those customers with their McMuffins sandwiches.

I'm sure there are some Transit workers here who know what it's like to clear at 1 or 2 am and would not mind a breakfast platter(scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage) at McDonald's.

I don't think that is the case in NY. I think it's 11 in NY. For me, that 1/2 hour means a lot, as I am often in that situation between 10:15 and 11....where I really want a burger instead of breakfast, but not going to wait around in Brooklyn for 45 minutes when I need to get back to Suffolk. If they served at 10:30, I would grab lunch before getting on the parkway. The way it is now, I just forgo eating and get on the parkway.

Sure, but I wouldn't go to McDonalds even if I felt like that.... For the same money, you may as well go to a diner, most are open 24 hours, and the food a lot better.

Actually, we usually do is go to a place like Applebees....no breakfast, but you get half price appetizers after 10:00..... Then again....you get two for one drinks too....

Not really "into" microwavable sandwiches, but they are convenient when you don't have much time. And I only brought them up, as Egg McMuffins are not really any better than a 7-11 prepackaged breakfast sandwich.....in fact, 7-11's may be better.....
As for sitting, I never sit in McDonalds anyway, even if I get Big Mac there.....I usually eat in my car, and then am on my way. Mc Donalds is not somewhere I go if I am not in a hurry....even if I am not just getting breakfast, but burgers instead. If I "want to sit", I am not going to McDonald's anyway....

Gotcha. When I lived in the Poconos, everyone went to Perkins after a night out, and we usually ate breakfast items.

Most parts of the country don't have all-night diners.

I just got back from the McDonald's near my house. At 9:40am the drive-thru line was 6 deep, and inside was the same. Their menu is so complicated and it lenghthens the wait. I got the breakfast platter. Not bad.

Garbage men, cops, firefighters, factory workers, construction workers, TA workers, mechanics, resturaunt workers (particularly those involved in baking, which is what I was doing when I worked 6 AM - 2 PM). Not everyone works 9-5. In fact I'd say those who DON'T outnumber those who do.

I've worked unusual hours. The 6 AM - 2 PM shift, the 4 PM to midnight shift (called the "swing" shift) and, for a short time a 1 AM to 9 AM shift. I usually had breakfast for dinner during those 6 weeks, which is why I took a pay cut to return to more normal hours.

I was never "told" to eat fried chicken.
I like fried chicken.
But my doctor told me to avoid it.

If I have to eat it,
I should do so in moderation.
And I prefer KFC or Popeye's chicken.
When it comes to Palace Fried, Crown or Kennedy Chicken,
I usually order anything else except chicken.

Like I said earlier choosing between McDonald's and 7-Eleven is the lessor of 2 evils. If you're just hungry and don't care much for what you're eating, you go to the nearest place.

Do you mean 7th between 33rd and 34th? I find it interesting that they have breakfast items at 3am. Usually, they don't start breakfast until 5a.
