Of those deaths, you never hear about vaccination status or comorbidities, not to mention is someone dies from a heart attack, car accident, stroke or cancer complications & is covid positive. Being covid positive will not be listed at the primary cause of death on the DC, but since that patient was reported as covid positive to the authorities, it gets lumped into the covid death total.

Agreed. The time for upending society is over. But mask mandates for attending a performance, as an example, do not upend society. IMO, either mask or proof of vaccine, not both. Yesterday I wrote the subway two stops and didn’t have a mask (actually I did, but it was in my jacket pocket and I didn’t look there, it wasn’t in my coat pocket), so I just wore a scarf backwards for show. I’m sure it had no effect whatsoever and I don’t care.

And if you treated in the emergency room and don't have insurance you may be discharged when the life-threatening emergency is over, even though the appropriate medical procedure would be to admit you into the hospital as an inpatient. I do agree that treating people who do risky stuff differently from a financial perspective is a slippery slope that doesn't work. However, I also think that it's unfair to charge people without insurance more than the insurance company is charged if they do have insurance, a common practice.
