IMO its always good to have a battery back up radio in the house, especially one with a weather band. If you lose juice,(big concern nowadays) you stay connected to the world & save your phone for important communications (utilities, pharmacies etc.) |

He had the wrong message and sold it for over thirty years.Back in the early eighties he did a very very short (maybe all of three weeks IIRC) late night TV program. His message was so off-putting and disjointed even the audience was giving him a hard time about the hate he spewed. I still wonder about how we went from that...public rebuke and disdain for his hateful attitudes to this. Never expected he'd become a major part of the problem. |

The RW has been attempting just that since the mid-late seventies. Limbaugh was a major proponent of that, which makes him a part of the problem. And it makes that following wrong. That’s what the car radio is for, but it’s still great advice.What I think is terrible advice is using candles in the case of a power outage. Candles are dirty and dangerous. Battery powered lights do the job, leave no mess, will not start a fire, and last longer. |

Two men rolled up in a car, in broad daylight, at the Olney Transit Center and started firing at people waiting for buses. They fired at total of 18 shots, striking eight victims ranging in age from 17 to 71. One 70-year- old man was hit multiple times and was rushed into surgery at Einstein Hospital, which is next to the transit center. SEPTA cops in the subway station underneath the bus plaza heard the gunshots and quickly apprehended at least one of the suspects. They and the city cops recovered two guns at the scene. Another suspect, who got away, is being sought. Police say none of the victims were likely targets of the gunmen, just ordinary people going about their business. Detectives are investigating what possible motive there could have been for this mass shooting. |
