Obama only signed an executive order. BTW, Obama signed fewer of those than any other President in a century before him.

Executive orders are not national emergency declarations, which give the President broad, sweeping powers not available to him in normal times. What Trump is doing is a gross abuse of executive power. The President is trying to get money Congress explicitly said he could not have.

To be honest, no. It was the right th8ng to do.many of those that qualify for ithave no recollection of the country of their birth, do not speak the language as they grew upon America as Americans. Their lives are here.

You can't deport someone who was brought here at 6 months of age.it's simply wrong.

Well they hadn't. At the time, President Obama had been deporting thousands of undocumented persons. Some of these kids....who really should not have been...were errantly deported. So DACA was created to avoid those innocent victims of the system being unjustly sent back to a place they know nothing of, don't speak the language, have no family, etc.

In a sense it WAS an emergency, but not the kind of thing mandating a declaration.

Then they drop their anchor babies here, growing up, just what language are they going to use to communicate with their own kids? Exactly! I don't. Doesn't explain kids that grew up here speaking only American English. Chances are the parents chose to onlty speak English in their house. Ever consider that wiser people, to evade being "outed" would do that? Learn the language as task ONE. Most immigrants Ai knew, and there were many, did that unless their kids were older upon their arrival here. Lots of immediate grants, several years “off the boat” while I was growing up.

I don't know of one person who would not speak in their native tongue amongst their own immediate family members in their house. It's just not done. My parents are American so we spoke English in the house obviously, but my paternal grandfather know how to speak German because his father was a Kraut from the other side and obviously he spoke to all of his kids and German in the house in Brooklyn.

That’s not exclusively the case. I knew lots of people where that wasn’t the case. Funny thing is, most of those that did (Elmont being largely Italian immigrants at the time) went back. They only came for the $$$.
