Doesn't explain kids that grew up here speaking only American English. Chances are the parents chose to onlty speak English in their house. Ever consider that wiser people, to evade being "outed" would do that? Learn the language as task ONE. Most immigrants Ai knew, and there were many, did that unless their kids were older upon their arrival here. Lots of immediate grants, several years “off the boat” while I was growing up. |
