I don't know of one person who would not speak in their native tongue amongst their own immediate family members in their house. It's just not done. My parents are American so we spoke English in the house obviously, but my paternal grandfather know how to speak German because his father was a Kraut from the other side and obviously he spoke to all of his kids and German in the house in Brooklyn. |
