They won't come up with the 2% of GDP that would meet their military obligation under the system that has provided the European stability that has enabled them to dominate the region, but they imagine they'll be able to lead an independent Europe on 1.2% of their GDP.Or they may see that they have to raise a real army. The US contributed 14%.As for that 2%... it was agreed upon In order to encourage and allow for such contributions, members agreed in 2014, and reaffirmed at a summit last year, on a commitment for each to spend at least two percent of GDP on defense spending, by 2024. Please educate yourself, do better than Trump. |
