Anyone should be able to attend the best school they qualify for and can afford. It is not the place for private schools to demand or receive public tax monies to support their enterprises.

And if you can't "afford," you are at the mercy of the public school officials who provide your children with whatever education they (and the teachers' labor union) feel like giving them.

What about the parents that want their neighborhood school to provide that world-class education? Shouldn't they have the right to that, regardless of what neighborhood they live in? (This BTW, is what most parents want)

Yes, they should have that right. But the public schools almost never give them a fraction of that and, without competition, they have no incentive to wither.
