The Palestinians have some set of balls using the term "refugee camps" 71 years after turning down a state for the first time and 19 years after turning it down a second time. And any American politician who buys into it is a naive asshole.My father lived in a refugee camp near Casablanca in Morocco after barely escaping the Nazi onslaught of Belgium in 1940 and stayed there with his parents until the war in Europe ended in 1945. He basically lived in a tent. Although his living conditions there were paradise compared to what my mother went through at Auschwitz, they were far from ideal. Food was sometimes short and there was little protection against the weather. The Nazis were a threatening presence in Africa until 1943, when the Afrika Corps surrendered. Until that happened, my father was in daily fear for his life. The Muslims who lived in Morocco were also none too happy about a bunch of European Jews hiding from the Nazis. Comparing the Palestinian "refugees" of 2019, the vast majority of which were not yet born in 1948, to my father is plain asinine. The Palestinians have received hundreds of millions in aid for decades from various Arab countries and the EU, making the Pal leaders very rich indeed. If the Pals want to live in camps, its because they are trying to make a political statement, not because they are actual refugees. Nobody is a refugee for 71 years, especially after been offered a country of one's own TWICE during that time. But I'm sure that the "Mayor of South Bend, Indiana" is just stupid enough, or liberal enough, to buy the Palestinian horseshit hook line and sinker. Again, its just - you know - Jews. |
