The issue is that Orthodox Jews feel that the reform ceremonies are insufficient in that the converters are not taught the right things in their conversion classes. Nothing stops a person who intends to convert to Reform Judaism from undertaking an Orthodox conversion, although he’d have to convince the rabbi his conversion is sincere and “I want to be a reform Jew” might not be. |
