Each schedule may or may not be split into different runs based on their configuration, which at times changes according to the day of the week.

Regarding your example, an Adirondack driver will typically "turn" or return "live" or driving to Albany. A layover can be as short as 45 minutes or as long as 4 hours.

Some SUNY Albany runs are operated as a thru into the terminal and onto New York and vice versa. Some are transfers to the Adirondack local to Glen Falls/Warrensburg and others may be a transfer onto a bus that came from Long Island. It all depends on what time and what day.

Typically you will have more thru buses on Friday and Sunday during the school year and during holiday breaks.

With Greyhound, if that driver is not the regular Montreal or 6-1 Albany driver, their schedule is determined by the dispatchers in Dallas, who then tell the Port dispatchers what to do. The driver may start as a Albany one way to New York and end up in Richmond, DC, or Atlantic City depending on operational needs and how many hours the driver has....
