The operational cost savings comes from less buses used, not smaller ones on the same schedule. Replacing a 57 passenger D4500 with a 40-passenger C40LF suburban still means the same number of buses and drivers. Cutting three partially-full D4500 runs to two full ones means one less bus to fuel/maintain and one less driver to pay. |
