People do stand all the way, but it has to do with schedules and traffic. In the AM, unless a bus is missing, generally, all seats are filled, and there are no standees because people will choose to take the next bus. The Hylan Blvd corridor has enough buses that go to the same places that it's an easy option to take.In the PM, there are standees because people don't all leave work at 5. Additionally, traffic can keep buses from meeting the schedule; runs that have two outbound trips get hung up on the inbound deadhead, or the first outbound trip has been held up in so much traffic that they won't make another trip. Before the arrival of the MCIs, ALL runs had standees. Now, few do. |
