The number YOU mentioned.

The point is, Current M riders looking for midtown will stay on the V while J riders looking for midtown, especially if they know the V skips 2nd Avenue will likely just stay on the platform at Essex and take the V there.

Those two actions by themselves take pressure off the F.

Those two actions by themselves take pressure off the F, as passengers who previously walked downstairs to get the F at Essex-Delancey will no longer need to do so.

Do you REALLY need to see statistics to figure out that:

When the new V starts, passengers who previously used the M train and got off at Essex-Delancey for the F will no longer have to do that, thus, staying on the V?

AND

J passengers looking for midtown can just stay on the platform at Essex and get the V as opposed to walking downstairs to get the F?

Those two changes will make the F less crowded when it gets to 2nd Avenue. You don't realize it because all you see is your losing YOUR being able to sit on the V at 2nd Avenue and take that.

2nd Avenue isn't really in the Lower East Side

It was when the East Village name didn't exist and it still is part of it. Talk to older people and some of them would still call it Lower East Side. Ask some even older people to refresh their mind, they'd tell you it's in Little Italy.
