Denile never gets you anywhere, I wouldn't be surprised if you also blame the R46 AGAIN for the results...Seriously, these are 99.9%-ly the facts, and truth be told, I like the 32's as well, but they cannot stay around forever (fixed up or not) in their current condition, so, if you live long, you (and I) will live to see the 32's scrapped, thats just how it is, just gotta deal with it... |

Sadly I agree with that statement, the R32 use to do close to 60000 miles 10 years ago, now they're doing closer to 10000 miles that an overall increase of 40000 miles as they got older. Thats incredible overall! Those babies are ending on a strong note, but Ive heard the R44 will go first so to the 32s will enjoy their home on the B and C lines to finish their lives, |

The slant ends on the R40s are not only a failure, but in some cases are a safety hazard. Those "some cases" being when you have to pass between cars and feel like you're walking a tightrope over the Grand Canyon (not fun even if the train is not in motion), and the fact that kids have been known to "surf" on those slant ends...and die trying.Oh and I did neglect to mention that the space used for the slant noses limits interior space as compared to other 60' cars? |

Beacuse when you know you "it wasnt you" and you go Chow, you PRAY that a signal tripped you and you dont find a body under a car..I had that exact feeling about 4 Years ago while operating the 0440 outta WDL going to ZooLots i went BIE going into 14th Street... I had a tech and it told me where i went BIE so i knew it wasnt on me.. I dreaded going to that car though but it was just some stuff a contractor left out too close to the rail that tripped me.. The train's vibrations passing thru the area made it fall over and trip me.. |
