Eff that (de)Bozo. That means regular riders have to bustitute (he said transit runs buses for construction projects so they can run buses for this) one stop. Meanwhile the homeless can stay on the inbound train.So the normal passenger on inbound trains can pretend to be homeless to avoid the bus? Why should the normal passenger get screwed? This is another "flavor of the day" which eventually be dropped due to a lack of money. And for it to work you can't cut the initiative at certain stations as you go along because the smells will flock to those trains. I know because when I was working the M shuttle, if the outreach people were at Jamaica Center, they'd flock to the M train for a few nights. Then they'd go back to the E when the outreach people went away. |

It does not require closure of the facility. Why are the G and L train terminals not his shitlist ? Don't want to revisit the L train closure issues again with Cuomo ? |

At least 96 MTA workers have died so far, 94 from NYCT, and I don't think the t/o and c/r who died yesterday are in that count.I called for the system to be shut down to save the lives of transit workers, yet got soured down by those who say "transit workers lives are disposable like the trash". This overnight closure is too little too late because if this was done 6-8 weeks ago lives would have been saved. I support this new initiative. |

They give train crews a hard time when trains go out of service, delaying that train from leaving which could delay the following train from arriving. The ridership and employees should be able to ride and work in an environment where they don't have to smell their filth and worry about germs they transmit that could get them sick....from coughing to a cold, flu, Covid-19 and everything else. It's the responsibility of the City of New York to deal with them. By closing down the place, even for 4 hours, will force them to find help or move to a different place where NYCT & its' passengers & employees will deal with getting the riders from point A to point B without this distraction. |

THere is a video out which appears on PBS from time to time called Taken for a Ride which describes how GM and Firestone tires conspired to get rid of street cars in favor of buses. Buses were deemed to be less efficient than streetcars and the motive was to get people out of public transportation and into automobiles. Anyone who believes that Laguardia with his stooge Moses was any good for NYC really has been taken for a ride. |
