THere is a video out which appears on PBS from time to time called “Taken for a Ride” which describes how GM and Firestone tires conspired to get rid of street cars in favor of buses. Buses were deemed to be less efficient than streetcars and the motive was to get people out of public transportation and into automobiles. Anyone who believes that Laguardia with his stooge Moses was any good for NYC really has been taken for a ride. |
