Oil has a long lifetime ahead of it, in increasingly limited quantities.Once power storage is good enough, electric cars and trucks will rule. For airplanes, the key is fuel weight. Hydrogen has more energy per kg than oil, though less energy per liter. I suspect planes will burn H2 in your lifetime, though not mine. Lubricants and plastics, fine. |
