For some of us it is a holy day.But I read that nothing even happened on December 25! Besides that, what does SubChat have to do with the "holy day" of Christmas? If it really is a holy day, then why in the hell would you be surfing SubChat on that day when you KNOW DAMN WELL that SubChat is full of the most unholy of things?!?!?!!?!?!? It would be your own damn fault then!!!! Right? Am I right? Can I get an AMEN? |

"Something sorta wrong" and "busted for theft" are two different things. Here is what I did "sorta wrong": McGrumpy demanded I return the keys directly to him. I said, uh-uh. No reason to. He said I am not a trustee and did not pay a $20 deposit for those keys, and if I don't give them back to him I won't be allowed back to volunteer. Then he went behind my back and pulled strings. He caused all this, really, because I got along fine with everybody except him. Others volunteer up there and have keys and they aren't trustees and there is no problem. I had the same privileges. But because McGinty didn't like me, he used his influence and that is how I had the keys revoked and became disenfranchised. I know what to do about that clique with him and Omar and pantywaist. |

Posted by BLE-NIMX on Sun Jan 3 19:42:12 2016, in response to Pictures from TMNY, posted by ren on Fri Jan 1 07:22:40 2016. Robert, you tried giving me a black eye with your bombarding of the TMNY in recent weeks. Your insulting of the car collections, your pictures of storage cars despite my personal instruction to you as to why you weren't allowed inside those cars. Despite my encouragement of the positive things you have done which I still appreciate. Like the "W" stickers, the goof off, the painting. I can take full responsibility for the R16 cement floor needing grinding despite the good hard work you did put into it and the subsequent insulting you performed for the effort last week. Its OK. I understand you think 120 needs a mechanic. Mechanics are full time jobs. Ours is only a volunteer, same as the man who restored 358's air brake system. Same as man who plumbed shop air piping system out of his own pocket in 20 degree weather. Same as the man who spent days redoing #9's air brakes, engine water pipes, welded the plate into the unfinished R16 (steel plate, welding equipment and cutting blades in same photo). I just wanted you to know I'm not of nor for sour grapes. I appreciate the advertising. For almost 20 years I was there when the R16 went up there. For a long time I was basically the only one keeping it running while the others raised children, families, to return by my side and give me a hand. I'm not bitter. Should I return my keys because I'm not on the board? Should I moan there are privileges with seniority? If I was ordered to turn in my keys I'd be disappointed. If I was forced to resign I'd be very upset. But I understand class and good behavior. I don't consider myself in any clique. Preservation is my priority, not just people the behind it. I got to ride the R9s last Sunday and after watching the young boys and girls with their parents, most of whom never rode anything older than redbirds, enjoy the feel, the smell, the windows and crank signs for the first times with smiles on their faces, I remembered why I want to contribute and not to throw gasoline at museum forces the way you did. I still have a dream we will have electric power, non fossil fuel cars running on our rails. Volunteers in numbers tripping over each other. Maybe even a FULL time mechanic so 120 can run again. Remember a simple mechanic today does oil changes at Jiffy Lube. Decent mechanics alive today don't know the Continental Engine setup in 120. I sure don't. And a cleaner collection over time so one day we can have all our cars open to the public. But until then as I look at each of your attempts at defaming TMNY, I see that man volunteering fixing sandy damaged car batteries, working inside #9, 6398. Keep on punching, I'll keep standing, but until then please don't ask me for any keys. I'm not authorized to help youHarry |

Posted by ren on Sun Jan 3 21:12:16 2016, in response to Re: Pictures from TMNY, posted by BLE-NIMX on Sun Jan 3 19:42:12 2016. I never asked you for any keys. Those keys were given to me by the president without my once ever having even HINTED at wanting them. That came out of the blue. I have no idea why she picked me. She asked for them back and I gave them back. No problem. We all went into the Low-V because Nancy authorized it. She ordered the locks clipped. That was not my call. Oh, and you know who clipped the locks? That was Arjun! But on her authority. He used my angle grinder. I left everything where it was in that Low-V. I took nothing out of that car, just in case you were wondering. As for Arjun, I don't know about him. Sad thing is, you guys keep that guy around even though he is known for being sticky-fingered and dishonest. And Harry, I never gave you personally a hard time. I found you to be a diligent and knowledgeable volunteer. You explained everything about that R-16, things about the mechanical workings of subway cars that very few people know. You guys worked hard, fine. I saw the efforts. I went up there for the same reasons you did. I saw you weld the side panels on the R-16. That is great work. I can't even solder. But you saw how long that took, and that is the problem, you guys don't have enough resources to do what needs to be done. There is only one Harry up there, but you need twenty Harrys to complete everything there, and then you need equipment, money, etc. When you add all that up, you see the impossibility of it all. But Harry, it can't be that I get pissed on by one stooge and then he is gonna laugh at me behind my back after I get removed. If one guy like that pulls stupid shit like that, if one guy ruined everything for me there, then please understand class and good behavior will not play a part in the consequences dished out. That's called personal responsibility when he makes choices like that. Look Harry, if a married 48-year old father of two like him can't see eye to eye with me, he should be mature enough to work it out with me like a grown fucking adult and then put it behind him and we could go off and laugh about it over a drink after the day is done. That was his call. Not mine. He wanted an excuse to remove me, and my mistake was that, despite seeing the warning signs from this guy, I stuck around anyway. That was my goof. Harry, I wish you the best. But realistically, look at the Low-V and the R-4, and that BMT Q. That is a waste of good rolling stock while it's up there like that. You guys have had those cars all this time. I mean let's face it, that has nothing to do with me. You guys can do whatever you want up there, I am finished with that mess. All that time and money I spent up there, all for nothing. Cause of one idiot. What a shame. |

Unlike you, I have kept very close tabs on the statements made and the posters making them. The original accusation of theft - stating that I was "busted for theft" - was made by Arjun here: http://www.subchat.com/read.asp?id=1378478Up to that point, I only talked about the museum. Nothing else. Even McGinty said, in response to Arjun's post, "the cat's out of the bag" http://www.subchat.com/read.asp?Id=1378480 Why did these two (and Omar) do that? They were upset with my criticisms and opinions. They responded with false and defamatory FACTUAL allegations. That is legally actionable, and believe me, I will act. The mere fact that I defended myself does not absolve the above three individuals for posting these retaliatory statements . So please, sir, get your facts straight. Cause I have them straight. And those three will be hearing from me in the future - though not here. I have a right to discuss any topic without being slandered with false accusations. The malice motivating these three in posting these false charges is markedly evident. And it is no defense to say that I brought the TMNY up. They took this topic down another path. NOT ME. |

They were upset with my criticisms and opinions.Dude, in your first post you said: foolishness, appalling the amount of neglect, TMNY has repeatedly proven that it cannot maintain its fleet. Those are some strong words. How did you think they would react???? Especially when they just kicked you out!!! They have that golden nugget to respond with! You didn't think they'd use it!?! Up to that point, I only talked about the museum. You talked down upon them HEAVILY. You think they're just gonna sit back and take that? They were upset with my criticisms and opinions.Your VERY STRONG criticisms and negative opinions on a forum that has nothing to do with them! They responded with false and defamatory FACTUAL allegations. I have a right to discuss any topic without being slandered with false accusations. And they did. If you didn't want them disusing how you were thrown out of the museum, then why would you say that??? That is legally actionable, and believe me, I will act. Many people have threatened legal action against others here and AFAIK no one has ever come back here to say that they actually received the legal action. It's not different from private real property. You are a guest of it's owner until your welcome runs out, after which any attempt to stay is trespassing. They are making a claim, and you have no hard evidence to counter it. your behavior since you got here are is making it seem more and more likely they are right about you. That you are a pompous, selfish asshole who would steal if given the opportunity. |

First of all, I don't have the burden to prove I am innocent; second, the proof that I am innocent lays in McGinty's own post that the president gave me the keys but that I was not forthcoming to him about it (the keys were returned in any event upon her request, so it is not theft); third of all, I have other written statements from McGinty (which I did not reveal here) that he knew the president gave me the keys, which is certainly not theft ; fourth of all, he knew Arjun took a set of keys without authorization but he didn't kick Arjun out, so right there is proof of his bad faith; and fifth of all, if the webmaster doesn't want the posts I made to remain on the board, of course he can take them down at any time! |
