Can't speak for the LoV's, but the arnines had a relay in the light circuitry and when they went dark (usually due to third rail gaps) the batteries would feed the emergencies until the batteries ran down or they were no longer getting charged by the motor generators on the compressor motors. Since compressors tended to run all the time on arnines as they aged out, no problem. :) |

I did not know about the re-siting of the lower level Mott/148th. Do you know if David Rogoff mentioned this in any of his construction history articles?I don't remember seeing any references to abandoned structures south of this station in his two part abandoned tunnels etc. of the IRT in an old bulletin - probably because as you said, construction for the Lex connection & its tracks destroyed any remaining structures. Thanks again. |

I was there about two years ago and it was still possible to see the abandoned sections of the platforms. Note too the abandoned elevator shafts and the passageway built for connection to a proposed New York Central. The passageway was built and in use but the NYC station was not. Larry, RedbirdR33 |

If true, you would/should have been on the Lo-Vs if it was something you really wanted to do and didn't have anything super important at work that day. (d) I did not, in fact, take Monday off because I actually take my job seriously.SHENS. A lot of people take their jobs seriously and they still take off days from work. How about telling us the whole story, including the TRUTH. You took a "sick day" to attend the Mid-Winter Philadelphia trip one year. And you got fired. Fancy that.FUCK, you're right. Well it's not like you would know. So you say. If true, you would/should have been on the Lo-Vs if it was something you really wanted to do and didn't have anything super important at work that day. The fact that I'm getting paid to do a job isn't reason enough to do it? I can see why you got fired. SHENS. A lot of people take their jobs seriously and they still take off days from work. Yep. I can definitely see why you got fired. Responsibility just isn't a thing with you, I guess. And you know the worst part? It's that SelkirkTMO ruined my life by posting that information here for all to see. Oh right. You shirked your responsibilities and then lied about it, but it's Selkirk's fault because he didn't jump through hoops to protect you from being held accountable. I'm not sure why anybody would, but you've obviously convinced Larry since he implemented a filter to censor your name and deleted a whole bunch of posts to protect you from the consequences of your own immature behaviour. |
