People that use transit or live next to it like for it to be inviting and as pleasant as possible to look at.Of course, but LACMTA's design consultants have bequeathed an ugly concrete structure on the local residents who will use that station. If you're going to blow more money on an expensive design, aiming for a blob-like concrete structure isn't the best use of tax dollars. Something like this would have been far more ideal, in my opinion. DC a lot and has learned just as DC has Which is interesting given that DC's station designs are considered by some to be the best examples of Brutalist design while others think the concrete design is an example of poor aesthetics in general. WMATA isn't "pretty" in an artistic sense, but it's better than some of the BART and PATCO stations of that era. |
