Central Tokyo cannot afford to build a junction like that, so they built a four-story loop the size of baseball stadium at a former trolley and bus depot. It opened this March. Close up from last year, still under construction.  Original rendering.  It looks like this from ground level. Two loops are underground while the other two above ground.  This page has more photos of the construction and a photo of a regular junction in Japan. One more expressway is supposed to connect to this junction in the near future. |
