the butt end of the old North London Line viaduct north of the site of that line's Broad Street terminus.

Broad Street terminus was an impressive structure. When I first saw it (in the 1950s) I was impressed by how few passengers used it, even in the peak hours, in contrast to the bustling Liverpool Street station next door. By that time there were shorter routes to most places served by Broad Street.

According to the Wikipedia article on Broad Street station, "With nine platforms at its peak, it became the third busiest London station (after Liverpool Street, immediately adjacent, and Victoria)." The approach viaduct had four tracks.
