I'm talking about what Moses did in the 1930s - before highways were being constructed in the US, and before mass transit was being discarded for the automobile. In the 1930s, Moses wasn't part of "the times." He was defining it. Prior to WWII, most of the highways in the U.S. had been built by Robert Moses. |
