Since both 2nd and 3rd Aves in Manhattan have been widened since the removal of the origina els, a 2 track concrete structure aesthetically pleasing and with an appropriate noise mitigating roadbed such as in DC or the Kennedy Airtrain could be built without seriuosly compromising the openness of the area.

I can't think of any kind of viaduct that can ever be aesthetically pleasing. Some are just uglier then others.
