So you are not giving any credit to the folks that kept things going in a hopeless situation? Do you think it was easy for a local guy to keep a hardware store or food joint in business through the bad times? They did it anyway when it would have been easier to get out. Now they are being priced out with those businesses being replaced by another Starbucks or Barnes & Noble. The police, the 90s economy and the decline of crack were factors but the local community deserves its due. Like I said earlier I'm not too familiar with that particular community but these changes are happening citywide. |
