But if you think about it, look at all he accomplished. Jones Beach, the Parkways, numerous other roads, bridges and tunnels. Yes, a lot of the City is inaccessible to rail because he neglected mass transit, but a lot of the City (and the suburbs) would be inaccessible by roads, too, if it weren't for him.I think that non-availability of rail transit in parts of the city is not because there was a Robert Moses, but because there wasn't a similar pro-mass transit person with his qualities (good and bad). |
