Ahh, this brings back memories of partying between the cars on the old LIRR coaches. Guys alla time would be there, smoking...drinking...whatever. It was a hangout. Especially on the Patchogue branch. And I loved it when the conductor would leave the trap down and the door open. Bold fellows like myself would ride on the steps...summer days, wind rushing by, passing woods and fields. What a rush. Sad to think kids today can't do that. (Exactly what the hell can young dudes to nowadays in that department? Everything keeps getting more and more "protected".) Sheeyit, I'd still do it if the opportunity was there.Sealed cars suck. |
