in 2027, we will celebrate the 200th birthday of the B&O. The RR was granted tax avoidance as long as HQ remained in Baltimore and the name remained prominent. The PRR while officially a private company, had serious support from the state government including blockage of competing RRs. later, PRR used RFC funding to electrify and upgrade ;ines East of Harrisburg.
