Said railroads would not have been as cash-strapped if NY state had not been taxing them on number of tracks on right of way, never mind being forced to keep steam locomotive firemen working on diesel locomotives or other insane regulations out of the federal and state governments. Never mind the tax breaks given to road and air travel and freight transportation.
