The way it was explained to me was that thr R-33 singles were under the R033 contract but built with R-36 parts which of course would include the picture window framing. That was done to provide Flushing Line passengers with a preview of what their new cars would look like so they wouldn't have to wait until the R-33 delivery was finished. When the entire Flushing Line fleet was complete, the R-36 MLs were then built with the parts including windows that were left over and originally intended for the R-33 singles. |
