Then the world will keep having infections and increasingly evasive subvariants that evade vaccinations. We're in a yet another Covid wave because people think it is over.

Latest estimates from the federal goverment are that at least 60% of the US population has had Covid. That's 200 million people, which in turn means that the much-publicized one million deaths means a death rate of 0.5%.* Hardly a Guaranteed Death Sentence that all the fearmongerers whine about.
* = I'll bet it's even lower among people physically able to ride the subway
