Posted by IRTRedbirdR33 on Thu Jan 13 06:48:20 2022 Correct me if I am wrong but the R-32s seem to have the house record for longevity on the subway system. They entered service in 1964 and made their last run in 2022. So that's fifty eight years. The previous record was held by the Gibbs High Voltage Motors which were in service from 1904 to 1958. Notice I said subway system not the el system. The BU/Q-Type trailers on the Myrtle Avenue El ran from 1904 to 1969. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
