I think someone said the reason the
R32 went to the J instead of Broadway BMT was to avoid Montague tubes.


Apparently (this has been mentioned here), the Hurricane (Supersotmr?) Sandy repairs to Montague no longer allowed R-32s or $-42s to traverse Montague. So there was that to consider. I guess if those types needed to get to CIY, they had to use the K M connector to get to Houston St, then reverse and over the north side of Manhattan Bridge.
