While I will politely disagree about the history of the line (as replacing a rail service) being all that relevant (and trust me, I have a love of history), I agree that the Q53-SBS is an important service and it was silly to consider removing a direct link between the Cross Bay/Woodhaven corridor and Jackson Heights/Woodside.If they arranged for the Q35 to go all the way to connect with the Q52 at the Cross Bay bridge, and they ran the Q52 at a very high frequency (basically the combined Q52/53 frequency of today) and extended that to Woodside, then theoretically you could consider removing the Q53 and not hurt anyone too badly. I don't recommend any of that though. The current setup is probably the best for the moment. |
