The neighborhoods were fully functional, residential with commercial. He destroyed them. Super Blocks was merely to displace them out of the way of his freeways.The Cross Bronx came later and is and was a disaster. All the beaches, including Jones, are barrier islands, and are in a constant state of moving. He built parking lots. Fire Island isn't wide enough to have much left had he put a Parkway down the middle of it. That would have been the end of them. |
