That puts Sonny on the Loop Parkway, which had been completed at the time of the events in The Godfather, and would indicate that Puzo has Corleone coming back from Point Lookout. Since the juncture of the Meadowbrook and the Loop Parkway had tolls at both entrances to Jones Beach, this fits. However, Corleone could also return to the city via the Atlantic Beach Bridge from Point Lookout via Long Beach, which is closer to what is suggested in the film. There is that... |
