Allow free transfers between rail, subways, and busesI suspect I'm one of the few that supports this proposal, but once you've used a system with fare parity, it's a beautiful thing. In German cities, there's no magical higher fare for choosing to use the regional railway over the bus or subway despite being operated by different ownership. It permits the use of the fastest mode possible which encourages transit use. It's almost criminal to watch LIRR trains pass by while people have slow bus connections to a slow subway to the core. |
