Was called Gimbel's Passageway because it provided direct access to Gimbel's basement level. It was beneath 32nd St., so the north side of the passageway's eastern half abutted Gimbel's. Today Gimbel's building is the Manhattan Mall.

Would be nice to have it restored, but there are the inevitable legal and security questions that would have to be answered.
