Simply put, the LIRR is in exanstance primarily for the passengers of Nassau & Suffolk Counties. Attitude being Queens & Bklyn has its subways & busses.OK, that's a good reason to get rid of Elmhurst, or minimize service to Forest Hills. But eastern Queens doesn't have subways. Bayside gets superb LIRR service. Why don't St. Albans and Rosedale get similar service? (There may be a reason, but I don't know it.) |
