Let's just assume that the rail-trailers didn't get their hooks into this line, and proposals hit the table to resurrect it as a Metro-North commuter line.

For my part, I'd say that it'd get used quite a bit, so long as the frequency was there. There's a big gap between the Harlem and Hudson Lines that is screaming for relief, and is dominated by auto traffic (oh yes, I've seen it). Not to mention that the hit oil prices will continue to take would make such a line more desirable nowadays . . .
