Yes. BB was started 12/16/1940, when the 6th Ave. IND opened. Rush hours only service, all local stops, between Bedford Park and 34th St. In Nov. 1967 the south portion was extended to Coney Island via the Manhattan Bridge and BMT West End line, and it was rechristened the B train.
